Manufacturing in China - Simpler Than I Thought
2/28/2007
At the recent Small Business Summit I had a chance to meet and interview Anya Feinberg who works with a company called Manufacturing in China.
She stepped through how easy it is to evaluate having a product manufactured in China. She collects information and samples and then she works with contacts in China to provide a cost and other details back to you the client. Sounds pretty simple actually.
Click below and listen to my brief interview. Contact Anya directly at 212-255-5597 for more information.

This week’s Podcast Review is about the I’m Boss TV Podcast
Description: Providing small business information in three media types, audio, video and print.
Comments: I know the name sounds video oriented and there is video content on this site, in fact, there is video, audio and print all focused on small business.
This Austrailian based small business site covers and incredible range of small business topics such as:
- Small Business News
- Regional Business News
- The Web Watch
- Business Coaching
- Sales and Marketing
- Technology and Communication
and much more. All forms of media are professionally done, as I like to say, ‘Great Production Values.”
The site is easy to use, 3 big navigation buttons on the top of the page take you to your preferred media choice. There are good show notes, subscribing to the content form you like is obvious and my favorite, instant play of the audio is available.
Pluses: The biggest plus is the incredible volume of content provided, second is the easy to navigate and to use website.
Minuses: The overdone use of the I’m Boss graphic in the banner ads, if you get both the top and right side ads and the page logo all at the same time it is distracting.
Recommendation: This is definitely a thumbs up, positive recommendation. The content volume is so large it is definitely worth exploring. Check out the I’m Boss Podcast today.

Entrepreneurs: Stubborn as a Brick
Or so says Craig Jennings, Business Coach. Describing himself as “really old,” Craig seems to have figured out how to get past his clients’ reluctance to ask for help.
I met Craig at the Small Business Summit in New York City this month. He is a very genuine individual with a dry sense of humor and it is obvious to me he loves what he does for a living, helping entrepreneurs.
From classes, to individual coaching to books, CDs and more Craig is a talented individual sharing his experience and helping clients every day.

Podcast Review: Biz Link Radio
2/19/2007
This week’s Podcast Review is about the Biz Link Radio Podcast
Description: Weekly conversations with successful entrepreneurs and business executives.
Comments: I am highlighting this podcast as a good example of what a small business can do with podcasts as a marketing tool. This podcast is produced and distributed by a business called Virtual Tape Drive from Canada.
The show uses an interview format to extract practical information from their guests. Production values are good (sound quality, music, etc.).
Each interview is about 20 minutes in length and covers such topics as:
- How to use a marketing and PR firm
- How do you use event marketing effectively
- How can you use astrology to help you catch trends
- How to choose and work with a business coach
Providing a nice blend of business advice from experts and also commentary on being an entrepreneur this show covers many aspects of being successful in your business.
Pluses: A beautifully simple but very functional website with instant play, subscriptions, photos, show notes and more. I also like how they have weaved into a couple of the shows special promotions for the listeners.
Minuses: No show length indicator and I found the sound to be a little uneven, meaning a guest is sometimes softer in volume than a host. Be ready with your volume control.
Recommendation: With very good content that is easy to access and also serving as a good example of podcasting for other small businesses this is a show worth the time to listen to. Check out the Biz Link Radio Podcast.
