Steve Rucinski, Executive Producer of the Small Business Trends Radio Show and podcast series, and Anita Campbell, Host of The Small Business Trends Radio Show, were at the Small Business Summit 2007 in New York City on February 13, 2007.
As previously announced, the Small Business Summit 2007 took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Times Square.
Steve and Anita recorded interviews of as many attendees and exhibitors as could be accomodated, portions of which will be used in an upcoming radio show.
During the event, Anita moderated a panel discussion on resources for entrepreneurs and business owners. The summit’s agenda included case studies, panel discussions, networking and many wonderful exhibits.
The 2007 Small Business Summit was truly a success. Small Business Trends Radio would like to thank all of the attendees who supported us and participated in our podcasting event.

This week’s Podcast Review is about the SBA (Small Business Administration) Podcast
Description: Programs and services to help you start, grow and succeed
Comments: The SBA Podcasts attempt to bring a good portion of their small business information to the audio format.
The SBA has so much valuable information and resources to help any small business. Podcasts are just their latest effort to make the information accessable.
Good basic production values (sound quality and clarity of the voices) the SBA Podcast covers such topics as:
- Check List for Starting a Business
- SBA Programs Support Entrepreneurial Veterans
- Is Entrepreneurship for You?
- Selecting a Business That Fits
Most shows are just a few minutes in length and the wait time for download is minimal.
Pluses: Good website, advice and content, and transcripts of each show are available for download as well. Transcripts make the content more usable and digestable, kudos to the SBA.
Minuses: No instant play from the website.
Recommendation: New business or old, USA business or not, the SBA Podcast and the SBA website is a resource you should tap into for knowledge and help.

Podcast Review: Small Business Radio
2/5/2007
This week’s Podcast Review is about the Small Business Radio Podcast
Description: A Podcast dedicated to serving the needs of Small Business.
Comments: With 15 episodes to date the Small Business Radio podcast works very hard to get to the meat of the topic.
No witty banter or long drawn out musical interludes here, just expert advice and information targeted to serve small business.
Each episode is approximately 30 minutes in length and covers topics such as:
- How to Recruit the Very Best People
- Permission Based Marketing
- Buzz Marketing
- Web 2.0, What is it?
- Effective Network
And much more. Most shows are in an interview format with the host and an expert guest.
Pluses: The website is very nice, clear show notes, banners, subscription buttons and of course my favorite, instant play. I also really like the attitude of ‘let’s get to it’ of the show. Entertainment is not the goal, information transfer is.
Minuses: My only minus is that I wish the active links on the site were blue, not orange. I know that is picky but…
Recommendation: I like this podcast and I think you will too. Good advice delivered in an effective manner. Check out Small Business Radio
