Podcast Review: The Leader Network Podcast

Podcast Review

This week’s Podcast Review is about the Leader Network Podcast

Description: A series of Podcasts presented by the The Leadership Network whose mission is promoting positive leadership.

Comments: This Podcast consists of both short and long interviews with many well known and a few unknown leaders. Many of the guests are also authors who have captured their leadership story in book form.

No fancy music with this Podcast, they are hosted by Brian McCormick of the Leadership Network. Typically the show starts with a brief introduction of the guest and then the direct dialogue with the leader being spotlighted. Here is a brief list of some of Brian’s guests:

– Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines
– William Roberts
– Stephen Covey
– Ken Blanchard
– Lou Holtz

Remember the topic is leadership not management. Many of the guests would fit in the who’s who list of leadership guru’s. If you go to the Home page you will find a way to download the audio.

Pluses: I like the content, the instant play and the no-nonsense direct discussion of leadership contained within the Podcasts.

Minuses: While the player on the site provides instant play it does not allow for intuitive navigation through the show nor is it easy to start another Podcast.

There are no show notes, nor categorization on the site and strangely enough the website navigation is via buttons on the bottom of the page. I could find no RSS feed and with some of the links it is not evident what the function of them is.

Recommendation: If you can get past the website quirks what you will find is some great content about leadership to listen to, give The Leader Network Podcast a try today.

  1. Amanda Says:

I too disliked that there is no content description of each podcast. It is too time consuming to go thru all of the podcasts without being able to pick & choose shows of interest. I’m sure there is great content but the layout is confusing.

  2. EJMalyn Says:

Agree with Amanda, time consuming does not hold my interest for too long.
